Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families offer a fun and educational environment for the whole families to connect with others who share similar experiences, build meaningful relationships, and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural identities of their children. These camps also provide a safe space for children to explore and embrace their heritage, which is essential to their overall well-being and development.

Donate to Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families with a one-time donation or a recurring monthly donation, and know that you’re providing adoptive families with the tools and connections they need to thrive.

 

$50 can support creative projects that help teach adoptees about their birth culture in fun and engaging ways.
$100 can support our Specialized Programs, which are designed to support adoptees in developing a positive bicultural/biracial identity, and understanding of adoption.
$250 can be used to support a camp counselor who serves as a racial/cultural mirror for our campers. This covers a background check, food, lodging, t-shirts, and supplies.
$500 can provide a camp scholarship for a family of four, when economic hardships make participation difficult.

$1,000 can be used to bring an expert to present on a topic related to adoption, culture, or race, providing meaningful educational experiences for parents.

Thanks to Donors Like You, Everyone Can Attend Camp

Our camp fees are considerably lower than many other adoption camps. We believe it’s important to be inclusive, and want to ensure that camp is affordable for the majority of families. We provide scholarships for camp fees and accommodation for those who qualify for financial support.

We rely on the generous support of camp families, community members, and local and national businesses. We must raise $275,000 annually in addition to income from camp fees.

Each April we have our annual fundraiser. Join us for a fun-​filled evening of dinner, cultural music and dance, cocktails, and auction!

MATCHING GIFT
If your employer offers a Matching Gift program, you may be able to double the impact of your contribution. Some companies also match spouse donations! Please take 3 minutes to link your loyalty card to Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families!

Depending on where you shop, visit King Soopers’ website or City Market’s website. (If you shop at a different Kroger owned store, create an account or login and under Account, please choose a Colorado location as your preferred store and you should be able to choose Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families as your selected nonprofit.)
  2. If you already have an online account, you can click ‘Sign In.’ Otherwise, click ‘Enroll Now.’
  3. Click ‘Create an Account.’
  4. Enter your information, including either your Value Card number (found on the card/keychain card you typically swipe at checkout) or alternate ID number (often your phone number). You also can choose to create a new value card/alternate ID number. 
  5. Click ‘Community Rewards’ on the left.
  6. Search for Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families and click ‘enroll.’

The amount HCAF receives is based upon our supporters’ percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending of all participating King Soopers Community Rewards organizations. The more members and supporters we have signed up who are shopping at King Soopers or City Market, the greater our donation will be!

DONATE A VEHICLE
You can donate your used cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, recreational vehicles, campers to Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families Inc. through Cars Helping Charities. Call 1-866-701-CARS, or visit their website. They’ll even pick up a vehicle for free at your home or office, and you’ll receive the donation documentation for your tax deduction.
DONATE FREQUENT FLYER MILES
There are many talented people from around the country and the world who are willing to volunteer their time at camp if we can cover their transportation costs. This includes keynote speakers, workshop facilitators, and counselors anxious to attend a camp in Colorado. If you can donate some frequent flyer miles, please contact Pam Sweetser, Executive Director at HCAF@HeritageCamps.org.
DONATE STOCK
Often, you can receive substantial tax benefits by donating stocks or bonds, regardless of market conditions. For appreciated assets, you can deduct the fair market value of the asset donated and pay no capital gains tax on the increased value. For assets that have declined in value, you can sell the asset and claim the loss, then donate the proceeds of the sale to HCAF for a charitable deduction. DEVELOP HCAF’S ENDOWMENT FUND

An endowment fund will sustain Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families and secure our long-​term future. Each year, the costs of facilitating camps is increasing and there’s a need for additional funding to keep camps affordable for families. PLANNED GIVING
Planned gifts can provide enhanced tax benefits and sometimes income to the donor, while strengthening Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families. Planned Gifts can be earmarked for an endowment fund, where the gift is invested and kept in perpetuity. Only earnings are used each year for specified purposes.
